What ReifCo Consulting collects, how it is used, and what you can ask us to do about it. Written to be read, not to be survived.

Who we are
ReifCo Consulting is a fractional COO and operations advisory practice operated by David Reifschneider. The website is reifco.net and the contact address is david@reifco.net.
This policy covers everything collected through reifco.net: the contact form, The Weekly Edge subscription, the market desk, and ordinary site usage.
What we collect
Information you provide
- Contact form: name, email address, company, revenue band, business type, and your description of the problem you want help with.
- The Weekly Edge: email address, chosen industry, and optionally your role and company.
- Email: anything you send to david@reifco.net.
Information collected automatically
- Basic usage data collected by Netlify, our hosting provider: page views and general traffic patterns.
- Standard server logs including IP address and browser type, retained by Netlify under their own policy.
- No Google Analytics, no advertising pixels, no cross-site tracking.
The market desk
The tariff lookup and headline feed at /desk/ require no account and no email address. Your search terms are passed to the public USITC tariff service to fetch a result and are not stored or associated with you.
How we use it
- To reply to your inquiry and prepare for a call.
- To send The Weekly Edge to subscribers who have confirmed their subscription.
- To communicate with you about an engagement if we decide to work together.
We do not sell your information. We do not share it with third parties for marketing. Submitting the contact form does not add you to The Weekly Edge, and subscribing to The Weekly Edge does not put you into a sales sequence.
The Weekly Edge, specifically
- Subscription is confirmed opt-in. You receive one email asking you to confirm, and nothing else is sent until you do.
- Subscriber records are stored in Netlify Blobs, a data store operated by Netlify, and are used only to send the digest.
- Delivery is handled by Resend, our transactional email provider.
- Every issue carries a one-click unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing removes your record; it does not merely suppress it.
- You can also unsubscribe by emailing david@reifco.net and asking.
Third-party services
- Netlify: hosting, form processing, and the data store behind The Weekly Edge subscriber list.
- Resend: transactional and digest email delivery.
- Anthropic: the language model used to help draft The Weekly Edge. Subscriber personal data is not sent to it; source material and your chosen industry category are.
- Microsoft 365: the email platform behind david@reifco.net.
- Google Fonts: typefaces are loaded from Google's servers, which may log your IP address.
- USITC: the official US tariff schedule service queried by the market desk lookup.
How long we keep it
- Contact form submissions are retained in the Netlify dashboard for up to 30 days, then deleted.
- Weekly Edge subscriber records are kept until you unsubscribe.
- Email correspondence is kept as long as reasonably necessary for business purposes.
- Where an engagement follows, project records may be retained for up to 3 years for legal and accounting reasons.
Your rights
- Access: request a copy of what we hold about you.
- Correction: ask us to fix anything inaccurate.
- Deletion: ask us to delete it.
- Opt out: ask us to stop using it for any purpose.
Email david@reifco.net to exercise any of these. We respond within 30 days.
California residents (CCPA). You have the right to know what is collected, to have it deleted, and to opt out of its sale. We do not sell personal information.
EU and UK residents (GDPR). The legal basis for handling contact inquiries is legitimate interest; the legal basis for The Weekly Edge is your consent, which you may withdraw at any time. You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Cookies
This site uses minimal cookies. Netlify may set functional cookies required for the site to operate. There are no advertising cookies, tracking cookies, or analytics cookies beyond Netlify's defaults. The light and dark theme setting is held in memory for the current visit only and is not stored.
